The ski resort of Suomu remains one of the last hidden gems of Lapland. Yet it contains a new quality hotel (finished in 2005), in our opinion lower first category, and a selection of various traditional cabins offering a beautiful experience for a Christmas vacation. Log cabins are ideal for between 3 and 8 persons each being equipped with private shower, sauna and WC. Your Lapland hotel offers family rooms for up to 4 persons (2 single beds and a double sofa bed), all with power shower and WC and some with jacuzzi bath. Located some 100 minutes from Rovaniemi airport. A perfect location for a visit to Santa in Lapland.
Day 1 23rd December
Fly from Gatwick or Manchester to Rovaniemi where upon your arrival you will be transferred to Suomu. Where possible aircraft with on board video equipment will be used and subject to crew co-operation there will be an on board Christmas sing along. Following your arrival at Suomu you will be equipped with warm overclothing and boot s to protect you against the cold. A welcome dinner will be provided at the Arctic Circle Hotel.
Day 2 24 December
Finnish Christmas day commences with a beautiful buffet breakfast at the Arctic Circle hotel followed by snow games and activities adjacent to the hotel providing an introduction to snow mobiles for both adults and children and other fun based snow activities. Lunch taken at hotel. Afternoon snowmobile and sleigh ride. A festive Finnish Christmas buffet is provided for dinner.
Day 3 25 December
Santa Claus has returned home from his arduous duties and after consuming a fortifying breakfast buffet it’s time to visit Santa in one of his kotas or cabins. Throughout this experience there will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy huskies, reindeers and further snowmobiling whilst awaiting your individual family visit to Santa himself . Lunch at an outside venue subject to temperatures on the day or alternatively back at the Arctic Circle Hotel. Tonight enjoy a traditional British Christmas dinner with the obvious extras including Christmas Pudding, Christmas Cake and Mince Pies
Day 4 26 December
A chance to recover from the fun Christmas Activities. We are happy to provide instruction, ski’s boots etc Included in the cost for cross country skiing which can be undertaken in the area. Lunch will be available in the hotel. Otherwise avail of a number of optional activities which are expected to include a range of safaris and ice karting etc. A farewell dinner within the Arctic Circle Hotel
Day 5 27 December Back to the top
Relax and enjoy the end of a very enjoyable Christmas holiday participating in some fun snow games before enjoying a final lunch in the hotel restaurant. An afternoon departure back to Rovaniemi airport for your return flight to the UK.
